Hi everyone,

Just a quick message to all you lovely people that choose to follow, visit and continually support the Lord Hill through what has been difficult times.

A special thank you to everyone who helped us make our relaunch last weekend what it was – a blinder!

Some of you were asking why the relaunch?

Very quickly a lot of you know us from the Albert, where we took a lame duck and turned it into a much better lame duck.

Out of the blue we got offered the Coach House (which was closed) hence the relaunch 2.

Within 6 months we reinstalled the original name (the pub is 200 years old this year) Lord Hill and got the place rocking. Bang Covid.

When we were allowed to reopen you will remember the rules, seated at a table and only allowed up to go to the loo. To us that was relaunch 3 and the driving force to refurbish the pub

as much as possible while in forced closure, luckily, I’m a builder and have a few builder friends.

When everyone got back to normal a lot of businesses did not survive, the hospitality sector was hit extremely hard with lots of pub closures (people no longer go to the pub like they did pre Covid)

The Lord Hill has noticed a significant change, which we mostly put down to pubs, clubs, micro pubs, food chain pubs having through necessity to adjust their business models.

We now have to give you a reason to come out. The outcome, everyone now is putting on some form of entertainment (something we have done from day one)

Again luckily the Lord Hill is a free house, so we don’t have to through lots of red tape if we want to try something. So try something we did.

We removed a large very lovely chimney to create a stage and DJ observation post. We seem to be very lucky as we also have a friend who messes about with lights!

We feel we have now achieved a pub/venue capable of offering something for everyone.

We kick off our big band night on Friday 26^th April (4^th Friday of the month) with Police Academy, the country’s leading Police tribute band (don’t take our word for it visit their website https://www.stingandthepolice.com/)

We are launching the big band night with a promotional offer of a 50% discount off what will be a minimum entry of £10 to £5.

We use the word minimum because occasionally we will be booking some acts who’s fees can run into the thousands. In May, Friday 17^th (3^rd Friday of the month) we will be having our regular once a month comedy night.

This will be an all seated event with table service. Start time will be 8:30ish and we will hopefully consume large amounts of what is scientifically proven the best medicine LAUGHTER!

Last Sunday was the first of our Sunday fun day parties with Martin Gray and his famous Ministry of Cheese (for those in the know Rat & Parrot) This one is especially only for those that require a regular fix of fun along with singing your head off to songs you have no idea how you remember the words to (but you know where you were) Memories – you can’t beat ‘em.

I’ve just remembered this was supposed to be a brief message! Hopefully you will understand and appreciate our message. We will not stop trying to give you all the best experience we can when you make the choice to visit us.
